Fulling Mill is widely recognized as a global leader in the manufacture of premium quality fishing flies. With a heritage that dates all the way back to the 1930s we have slowly but surely built a brand on the keystones of quality, value and service. Through our Signature Tyer Program we’re able to add new and innovative patterns each year, which keep our lineup up to date with every pattern you might need. Coming from the fly boxes of anglers like George Daniel, Luboš Roza, Devin Olsen and Howard Croston, they’re proven fish catchers.
Over the years we've added new products to our range, such as hooks, beads, tippet and fly boxes. Now, as of 2023, we are proud to offer a range of high-quality fly tying materials as well. Included in this new range are naturals like marabou, rabbit zonker strips and bucktail as well as dubbing, synthetics, and a wide range of chenilles and yarns.
A GLOBAL COMPANY
Fulling Mill has two main offices, one in New Hampshire in the US and the other near London in the UK. All of our flies are fulfilled from these two locations and most of our customers receive their orders just a few days after placing them. Every single one of our flies is tied in-house in our factory in Kenya (Fulling Mill golden rule: we never ever sub-contract production) before being quality checked and distributed through our UK and US hubs. We have over 600 independent wholesale and retail customers worldwide and this number continues to grow.
FULLING MILL AMERICA
Fulling Mill are based in Claremont, New Hampshire, a stone’s throw from the great Connecticut River. We’ve been here since 2005 supplying many millions of flies to Orvis - every year just seems to get busier. So busy in fact that in 2014 we decided to double our warehousing and office space. We are really excited to be releasing our first dedicated Fulling Mill US range in 2016.
In the UK we are based close to London near Gatwick Airport. The finest English chalk streams such as the Test and Itchen are only a small journey away from our warehouse: it’s a journey we like to make often. Luckily we are never short of flies as we keep about a million in stock to cover all eventualities. From here we service our UK and Rest of World independent dealer network.
In 2014 Fulling Mill opened a second manufacturing facility in Colombo, Sir Lanka. Our technical experts have spent many hours training up over 50 new tiers and this number just keeps on rising. We are really proud of what we have achieved in Sri Lanka in a relatively short space of time and there is no question Sri Lanka will grow into a really important Fulling Mill manufacturing centre.
Our factory in Kenya is based in Kericho County, a tea growing region to the west of the country. We’ve been in Kenya for a long time and this partly explains why the average length of service is currently sitting around 10 years, something we are really proud of. There’s no question that amongst our 250 or so skilled tiers we have some of the best in the world. The pride and dedication they bring to their craft shines through in the quality of flies they produce.
