Clark (Cheech) Pierce
THE CREATIVE FLY TYER
Specialty: Fly Tying
Cheech is an avid angler and creative fly tyer living in Salt Lake City, Utah. He spends a load of time tying custom patterns for all species BUT his passion is throwing big meaty streamers for trout, as well as chasing large and smallmouth bass. Having grown up in a household where artistic creativity was strongly encouraged, Cheech was drawn towards the expressive use of feather and fur - since 2001 has focused his energies using these fly tying materials.
At heart Cheech is an innovator and has created popular patterns with unforgettable names such as the Cheech Leech, the Grumpy Frumpy, and the Unsinkabeetle. Clark and his flies have been featured in a whole host of magazines including 'This Is Fly', 'Southwest Flyfishing', 'Fly Tyer' and 'American Angler'.
Cheech recently co-founded the website www.flyfishfood.com with like-minded fly tyer and fellow Fulling Mill Ambassador Curtis Fry. Together they create video fly tutorials, review materials and tools, and generally rave about fly tying and fishing: make sure you pay the site a visit, you wont be disappointed! When Cheech isn’t fishing he is usually pestering his wife and three kids or inadvertently booby-trapping the house with stray hooks and tinsel. We are really proud to be able to offer you so many of his great patterns.
