Higa's Secret Scud Olive Barbless (SB)

The secret scud came about when fishing certain lakes when I was guiding full time. I fished a few lakes that had an abundance of scuds. I tied lots of scuds in different colors that seemed to work ok. I took many samples of these scuds and found that most of the scuds I had in one sampling had orange egg sacs. I messed around with lots of dubbings and created an orange hot spot with some sow scud dubbing. It seemed wot work ok but I never really liked using dubbing for any of the body. It was always too stiff and never moved how I wanted it to. Then I discovered Ostrich herl. The fibers moved in the water just like I wanted it to. I then added an orange bead for the egg sac which also added some weight. I experimented
with lots of colors and it seemed that the gray, light gray and olive seemed to cover all of the scuds I took samples of.
