Curtis is an OCD fly tyer living along the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. He grew up in western Idaho and the high deserts of eastern Oregon fishing for bass, trout, carp, catfish and whitefish: basically anything that swims. He started tying flies way back in high school in the 80s when he needed a way to fool high mountain brook trout that were eating giant black ants at one of his favorite alpine lakes.
