Scott ‘Bubba’ Smith is a native Montanan who started fly fishing at 5 years old. Not many years later, at the age of 8, Dan Baily and his grandfather taught him how to tie flies—something he’s done ever since. Scott started guiding at a young age, and has guided in both Montana and New Mexico for decades. He’s now guided on the San Juan river for 26 years, where you can still find him instructing his clients most days of the year. We’re lucky to have a couple of Bubba’s dry flies, with his Psycho Ant being a huge success over the years!
