The Hot Mess is an organized mess of squirrel, deer, duck, and turkey spun in to a combination that resembles a caddis fly. The deer hair give a more realistic quality on the water than elk hair dose and that makes this fly a bit better in wary trout situations. Spikey squirrel represents the black head and legs of a dead or struggling caddis.
